Australia's Premiere Convention Centre
As part of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), it is ideally located in Melbourne’s CBD next to the Yarra River, easily accessible by foot, car or public transport and surrounded by retailers, cafes, bars, restaurants and hotels.
The Convention Centre was constructed in 2009 and offers versatile spaces and advanced technology to suit a range of world-class events.
Most impressive is that it was the first building of its type to be awarded a ‘6 Star Green Star’ rating by the Green Building Council of Australia, recognising it as an exceptional example of environmentally sustainable design and construction.
The Plenary Theatre within the Convention Centre features 5,500 of Camatic’s Evoke Series seating upholstered in a palate of greens and yellows and arranged to striking effect, many of which are mounted to an impressive platform lift by Gala Seating.
In 2018 Camatic installed over 1,000 Forte Compact chairs as part of the MCEC’s new Goldfields Theatre. With seating installed on a mixture of retractable platforms, and as part of a unique, customised removable system with specially-designed storage trolleys, Camatic have once again worked closely with our customers to provide unique solutions.
